On Saturday, May 11th, over 150 people from the L.A. marketing and advertising community gathered to give back and help clean up the Santa Monica Beach. Attendees also got the chance to learn to surf or strike a yoga pose. Our philanthropic partner, Surfrider Foundation, educated us about the problems our ocean and beaches are facing and what we can do to protect them. Because of everyone’s volunteer efforts, 172lbs of debris was removed from the beach in just four hours. The majority of the waste comprised of small, seemingly insignificant pieces of trash - cigarette butts, straws, bottle caps, lighters, handfuls of deteriorating foam, candy wrappers, and thousands of indistinguishable fragments of micro-plastic. Many thanks to our sponsors!
