Motor City West 2016 was sold out, and it's easy to understand why. The best-of-the-best were on stage to discuss auto marketing and how the industry has had to progress to stay ahead of the curve. We learned that the traditional ways of selling have been flipped, going from an average of four dealer visits per sale to just over one. Auto companies are morphing into selling experiences, and mobile use for research is continuing to grow at a rapid pace. Social media, from shares to sales, is a key focus now and going into 2017. The way TV is consumed has also changed how we target our customers, and understanding the connection between offline to online will become more powerful. AI and data are now center stage, and the ability to harness and utilize that information to help sales will be the illuminating ingredient for 2017.
