An entrepreneurial creative leader with expertise in Creative and Business Management, Sam Bergen joined VICE Media and Virtue Worldwide to build and lead the West Coast in-house creative offering. His passion for Content Development, Media Innovation, Digital Strategy, and Brand Storytelling align perfectly with VICE’s mission to disrupt the traditional media landscape.

Before joining VICE, Bergen was Chief Creative Officer for Omnicom’s bespoke agency created expressly for McDonald’s. Built from the ground up to be the “agency of the future,” he led 80 multidisciplinary creatives across 19 Omnicom companies to pitch, and win, the billion-dollar business. Prior to that, he spent over a decade as a creative leader at a series of top tier advertising agencies (BBDO, Deutsch LA, Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi) creating award-winning work for a long list of the world’s leading brands.

Bergen’s innovative storytelling and experiences have been recognized by international award shows from Cannes, to Clio, to Webby. His branded content and personal projects have garnered press and acclaim from every major news and cultural publication ranging from The New York Times to ESPN to Wired.

Beginning his career in Hollywood as an assistant editor then working in entertainment marketing, Bergen has always looked to blur the lines between pop culture, creativity and commerce. In addition to his day job, he teaches at Art Center College of Design, contributes to the neuroscience and maker communities, and is pursuing an MBA in Creative Leadership.
