MultiVu Creative’s Ideation Workshop; Ideating ThinkLA's Anniversary Video

On Tuesday, May 24th, our friends at MultiVu Creative, the multimedia production, distribution and media strategy group within PR Newswire, held a fun and informative creative ideation workshop for us at their offices in Santa Monica. It was a night of creativity, friendly competition and learning best practices for ideating concepts based on a creative brief. During the workshop, attendees were divided into groups and tasked with creating the concept for ThinkLA's 10-year anniversary video. Both groups did a great job, but one group came out the victor - GROUP B! Their prize? Each member was a awarded an Amazon Echo! The final animated video will be produced at MultiVu Creative's production headquarters in NY, and will be shown at Summer Soiree, ThinkLA's Anniversary Bash, this July.

What We Learned at AdU: UX

On March 24th, Jason Brush, EVP at POSSIBLE, helped us understand the creative process of UX design. We learned that Interaction Designers go through many steps to ultimately get to a clean and functional website – from managing expectations, research and planning to prototyping and implementation. Interaction Designers strive to create meaningful relationships between people and the products and services that they use. In the end, Interaction Designers should “Always Be Capturing,” meaning they should be observing, sharing, recording and fine tuning interactions on a website.

AdU: Creative 2014

On May 20th, Jordan Atlas, SVP, ECD at Ignited, showed us how important it is to create breakthrough work. We learned that “creative is not everyone’s job; It’s everyone’s responsibility.” The idea is not a product shot, cute kittens or celebrities. The idea embodies a lifestyle. It’s fresh, memorable and breaks through the clutter.

Maker Workshop: Rapid Prototyping 2014

On May 13, 2014, an intimate group of 25 people from the advertising community came together to learn how to accelerate their creativity using the skills of rapid prototyping. Individuals worked in small teams to hone in on the best way to develop, package and sell ideas like they’ve never done before by creating a conceptual mobile app prototype on paper in a few hours. What was the main takeaway from this workshop? This rapid prototyping approach can be applied to developing anything from a new business to conceptualizing a new campaign.
