As Co-Founder and CMO of Sagely Naturals, Kerrigan Behrens has successfully galvanized and accelerated marketplace acceptance of CBD as a natural and effective alternative for wellness products in medicine cabinets across the country.
Since the Santa Monica-based brand’s introduction in 2015, its mission of allowing people to do more of what they love is reflected in the fact that 78% of the brand’s customers have adopted a Sagely product as a permanent substitute for a less natural product in their medicine cabinets. Through education, Kerrigan has actively de-stigmatized hundreds of thousands of people.
Kerrigan began her professional journey at Duke University. Following her graduation, she worked on Wall Street at UBS Securities, handling hedge fund prime brokerage sales, capital introduction, and the alignment of West Coast investors and hedge funds. Drawing on a lifelong passion for food, she transitioned to the restaurant industry, spearheading high-profile marketing initiatives for brands spanning Wolfgang Puck and Taco Bell while she was in business school at UCLA Anderson.
After trying CBD for chronic back pain, Kerrigan approached Co-Founder Kaley Nichol in 2014 with the initial idea for what would become Sagely Naturals. Launched as a personally funded startup but now backed by top venture capital funds, the co-founders diligently built the company into the leading CBD topicals brand in the country with products available online and in thousands of stores nationwide including Walgreens, Neiman Marcus, CVS and Sprouts. Sagely Naturals was most recently named "the largest female founded CBD company in the country" by Forbes.
