1. What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference? Eddie the Extraordinaire would likely give me a glowing reference filled with anecdotes about that time I scratched his ears in the exact right place peppered in with stories of our long walks on the beach together.

2. Why did this type of work interest you, and how did you get started? I’m a graphic designer because my mom told me to be… seriously. I was a musical theatre major and she convinced me that .01% of musical theatre majors make it on Broadway which meant she was going to support me until I "made it". She gently mentioned that she had heard of a newfangled career for artists that actually make money called Graphic Design and off we went to an appointment with the dean at The Art Institute!

3. What keeps you driven and motivated in your life at the moment? Freedom and a lust for life motivates me. I’ve had a lot of self-exploration and growth since moving to Los Angeles and the biggest takeaway is that I want to be a better version of myself with every day that passes - some days are easier than others.

4. Describe your life using film titles. Funny Face. Eat, Pray, Love. And One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, haha.

5. If you could make a 20-second phone call to yourself at any point in your life present or future, when would you call and what would you say? To Sara in her teens and 20’s: Self Love is the most important possession you can have. Don’t take life so seriously - mistakes happen and it’s called learning. And for goodness sake, stop and smell the roses - it’s the journey not the destination!

6. What’s the best advice you’d give to someone interested in this field? Are there any written materials you suggest to read? Don’t hesitate, take a few classes, and get a good mentor. Also, take risks… we need fewer people who play it safe and more people willing to fail because that is where the magic happens!
