Curator of The Week: Isabel Rafferty
1. How did you get started in advertising? What's been your career road map?
I started in ad sales and from there quickly worked my way up through the ranks. Then I was given the tremendous opportunity to be one of the founding employees of Adsmovil, which really developed my passion for building and leading companies that focus on the Hispanic market. From there I founded Mobvious and Canela - I had many offers for high level executive positions but I was driven to build my own brand, and I am so happy I did!
2. What has been an important, perhaps the most important, lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?
Never give up on your dreams and never let anyone tell you you cannot do it. You will find a way to succeed if you set goals and work towards them. The most important thing is not to let anyone or anything deter you from your path to success.
3. What inspires your creativity? What is your creative process like?
For Canela.TV it's easy! I think about what my family would enjoy - and not just my husband and kids - what my aunts and cousins would want to sit down to watch at the end of a long day. We use our own personal life experiences to translate that to putting together content that we know our audience will be excited about.
4. If you could go back in time, what would you have told your younger self?
Maybe take a little more time for myself before jumping head first into a fast paced career. I have a wonderful life, family and career today and really have no regrets about the path I have taken.
5. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
I would be lying if I said anything other than a tremendous feature on Canela.TV’s Fall lineup from Lillian Rizzo at CNBC! We are all so excited about the shows we have put together and cannot wait to hear what our users think. Lillian has been very kind to us and put together such a great piece on our story.

Just always be true to yourself and your goals and do work that inspires you!
