On Sept. 4, 2025, industry leaders, marketers, and commerce innovators gathered at the Skirball Cultural Center for ThinkLA's Commerce and Retail Brunch, themed Where In The World Is My Consumer? The event explored the modern consumer journey across every channel and touchpoint, diving into how brands are navigating an evolving retail landscape where experience is everything and consumer behavior shifts by the day. Attendees kicked off the morning with networking and breakfast before settling in for a day of compelling conversations about omnichannel engagement, performance optimization, and the future of retail marketing.

The morning kicked off with an insightful fireside chat featuring Kimberley Sweet Gardiner, CMO of Tractor Supply Co., moderated by Jennifer Klawin, CBO of Emergent Media. Their conversation set the stage for a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities of reaching consumers in an increasingly complex retail environment.

The first panel discussion, moderated by Scott Marsden, VP of Client Strategy at PMG, featured an impressive lineup including Suraj Sundar, Director of Performance Marketing at Dr. Squatch; Nnamdi David, VP and Director of Strategy at Mediahub Worldwide (Oura); and Sarah Ayala, AVP of eCommerce at Wonderful Company. The panelists shared practical strategies for omnichannel engagement and performance optimization, offering attendees actionable insights on navigating the evolving retail landscape.

The second panel, led by Matt Doherty, GM of Data & AI Solutions at Fetch, continued the conversation with Hillary Kupferberg, VP of Performance Marketing at Exverus, and Melissa Meredith, CMO and Head of Product at SmartCommerce. Their discussion explored how technology and data are reshaping the way brands understand and engage with consumers across both digital and physical touchpoints. The event also featured remarks from Harry Kargman, CEO of Kargo, who provided additional perspective on the future of commerce marketing.
