Inside the ThinkLA Sports Marketing Brunch: Fandom, Culture & Community at Dodger Stadium

More than 200 sports marketers, brand leaders, media professionals, and rising stars gathered at Dodger Stadium’s Centerfield Plaza for the ThinkLA Sports Marketing Brunch, a morning of handcrafted coffee, fresh brunch, sunny skies, and bold conversations about the future of sports marketing.

From passionate soccer fans to local baseball legends, every panel pulled back the curtain on how teams, brands, and communities work together to keep audiences engaged all year long.

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors who brought the Sports Marketing Brunch experience to life. Comcast kept the crowd shaded and styled with custom ThinkLA trucker hats as our Spotlight Sponsor. Fubo fueled the morning as our Espresso Sponsor, while VDX.tv brought the team spirit with mini foam fingers alongside a morning beverage bar. Adlink created a memorable moment with a custom Trophy Photo experience, and Trailer Park Group supported the event as a key sponsor. Special thanks to our Creative Partner, Area of Expertise, for crafting the event’s look and feel with out-of-the-box graphics. Your activations made the day unforgettable.

The Fandom of Soccer:
Lisa Guerrero, the first Latina sideline reporter for the NFL, moderated a powerful discussion with Jaime Vazquez (PRIMETIME Sports & Entertainment), Danny Sanchez (LAFC), and Jamie Alvarez (LA Galaxy) on how brands can tap into soccer’s unmatched fan passion and the massive impact of Latino culture on sports loyalty.

The Partnership Playbook:
Scott Sonnenberg (LA Clippers), Kyumin Shim (Kia America), and Chris Hannan (Trailer Park Group) shared how they build brand collaborations that fans actually care about — and why showing up authentically is more important than ever.

From Local Legends to Global Brands:
Sergio del Prado (San Diego Padres), Jenny Oh (LA Dodgers), and Andy Barnet (Cast Iron Media) gave an insider’s look at how two iconic MLB teams keep hometown fans engaged while expanding their reach around the world.

A Fireside Kickoff:
Christine Monjer (LA Sparks), and Jarrett Nobles (Monumental Sports), ended the day with an honest conversation about what it really takes to grow loyal fan bases and meaningful community ties.

✨ What We Learned

🔑 Culture matters: Fans expect more than a logo. They want community, connection, and proof that brands show up where it counts.
🔑 Partnerships need purpose: Collaborations that feel forced don’t last. The best ones deliver real value on and off the field.
🔑 Growth comes from listening: Whether it’s a local fan base or a global audience, the best marketers are tuned in — and ready to adapt.
