ThinkLA Director of Operations Andrea Green welcomed guests before Co-Chairs Matt Montemayor, SVP of Sales and Partner at Canela Media, and Sara Yazdani, Founder of YD Media, kicked off the programming. The morning was framed around a central question the industry can't stop asking: in a world of endless content, fragmented platforms, and shifting audience behavior, where is the opportunity?
Welcome Remarks: Redefining Entertainment Discovery
Anthony Matre, VP of North America Ad Sales at Precisify, opened with proprietary 2026 data on how younger audiences are changing the game. Across a survey of 1,000 US teens and millennials, YouTube topped the charts for usage at 83% among teens and 75% among millennials, outpacing TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. The data drove home three takeaways: YouTube has become the new prime time, influencers are driving more than 30% of entertainment views, and discovery is no longer linear. Panel 1: How the Streaming Playbook Is Evolving
Blad Norman of Tubi, Lance Reiss of FX Networks, and Brian Meyers of Starcom joined moderator Dennis Camlek of WPP Media for a wide-ranging conversation on where streaming is headed. The panel explored how the competitive landscape has shifted from subscriber acquisition battles to show-based promotion, the role AI is playing in content and marketing workflows, and how platforms are thinking about revenue strategy alongside audience engagement. The consensus: attention itself is the real platform now, and winning it requires sharper targeting and more deliberate storytelling.
Spotlight: Owning Your TV Moment
Nathan Brown, Director of Ad Sales, CTV at TiVo, made the case for the home screen as prime advertising real estate. Millions of smart TVs in US living rooms are powered by TiVo, with viewers spending more than five hours a day watching video content, representing a significant audience that remains unexposed to traditional advertising channels. TiVo's pitch: own the first impression before the viewer even opens an app. Click here to learn more!
Spotlight: Understanding the Audiences Driving Entertainment
Jen Mutchnik, U.S. Lead Native Ad Sales at JustWatch, brought data on just how concentrated entertainment consumption has become post-COVID. Frequent moviegoers now represent just 6% of the population but drive 42% of box office revenue, a striking concentration that has only intensified since 2019. JustWatch's argument for intent-based targeting: its platform over-indexes 4x on frequent moviegoers compared to the general population, with 83% of JustWatch users being moviegoers versus 70% in the broader public. Panel 2: How the Theatrical Marketing Playbook Is Evolving
Alex Andujar of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Nikkole Denson-Randolph of AMC Theatres, and Lindsay Dye of Universal Pictures joined moderator Jennifer Rodis of Publicis Imagine for a frank conversation about what theatrical marketing looks like today. Discussion ranged from the evolving RFP process and AI integration to whether theatrical is becoming an "event platform" (think concert films and tentpole experiences) rather than a default distribution window. Panelists challenged the industry to rethink how they measure success and build partnerships in a world where streaming has permanently reshaped audience expectations.
Spotlight: Movie Marketing — Speed, Scale, and the Stakes
Paul Chenier, EVP of Global Sales, and Kristina Tucci, VP of West Coast, both from Playwire, made a cultural argument: movie marketing hasn't changed at its core, but the velocity and scale have. People still drive culture, and the way to activate it has simply shifted. Their thesis centered on owning the conversation across platforms like Letterboxd, social feeds, and live streams to generate authentic word-of-mouth at scale, with trust as the most valuable currency in any campaign. Spotlight: Three Opportunities in the Noise
Alyson Sprague, VP of Measurement Science at Samba, brought a data-driven approach to the morning's content programming. 60% of all TV view time now happens on streaming, yet audience fragmentation means most campaigns are missing their mark. Sprague outlined three opportunities for marketers: engage the same audiences across all platforms, find your next audience before they find you, and use unified measurement to become the strategic gardener, cultivating reach with intention rather than broadcasting into the void. Fireside Chat: NBC's Legendary February and the Power of Global Sporting Events
Kjerstin Beatty, EVP of Entertainment & Sports Media Strategy and Planning at Universal TV Entertainment, joined Becci Casas, Founder of Pnuema Media, for a conversation on the marketing power of marquee sports moments. The discussion covered NBC's landmark February spanning the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and NBA All-Star Weekend, along with forward-looking campaigns around the NBA, MLB, the World Cup, and LA28. The through-line: live sports remain one of the last guaranteed mass-attention moments in a fragmented media world, and the brands that plan around them early are the ones that break through.
